Message from the Chair
(IEEE India Council Awards)

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the IEEE India Council Awards Portal, a platform dedicated to recognizing and honoring the outstanding contributions of our members, volunteers, researchers, educators, professionals, students, and technical communities across India.

IEEE India Council has always believed that excellence deserves recognition and meaningful contributions deserve celebration. These awards reflect the dedication, innovation, leadership, and service that strengthen the IEEE community and advance technology for the benefit of humanity.

India Council is one of the largest and most vibrant IEEE communities. Across 14 Sections, 16 Subsections, Chapters, Affinity Groups, Student Branches, and technical communities, thousands of volunteers work tirelessly to promote technical excellence, research, education, professional development, innovation, entrepreneurship, diversity, and societal impact.

The Awards Portal is an important step towards making this recognition process transparent, accessible, structured, and inclusive. It provides a common platform to showcase deserving individuals and teams whose contributions often extend far beyond the visible outcomes of their work.

Strengthening our partnerships with professional bodies has been another important milestone. During President Mary Ellen Randall’s visit in June 2026, we signed an MoU with IETE and had already signed one with ISTE in 2025, opening new avenues for collaboration and joint initiatives

I am particularly pleased to share that the IEEE India Council has launched two major faculty awards, in two categories, in collaboration with ISTE, recognizing excellence and contribution by faculty members. The awards will be available on the portal after the MGA approval. We are also working to renew the India Council- PGCIL Award, which has been an important recognition for our engineering community.

I especially encourage our Sections, Chapters, Student Branches, and members to nominate deserving colleagues, volunteers, educators, researchers, and young professionals. At the same time, I urge all members to look beyond conventional achievements and recognize contributions that create lasting impact—whether by mentoring a student, building a technical community, advancing research, supporting women and young professionals, promoting innovation, or using technology to address societal challenges.

Please join me to appreciate the dedicated volunteers, the award committee, and the ECIM teams who make these awards and recognition programs possible.

Message from Vice Chair - Awards

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to our newly launched IEEE India Council Award Portal. It is a significant step forward in our journey toward greater connectivity, transparency, and member engagement.

The portal has been designed to provide our members with convenient access to award information - nominations, review, normalisation of scores, and other administrative services, all through a single, modern digital platform. I believe it will enhance members’ engagement, streamline award nomination & review process and create a more cohesive & comprehensive approach to the award process.

The launch of this portal reflects our commitment to embracing technology and continuously improving the way we engage our members. It is another milestone in our endeavour to build a platform that is progressive, responsive and aligned with the evolving expectations of our community.

I encourage all members to explore the portal, make full use of its features, and share their valuable feedback. Your participation and suggestions will play an important role in helping us further develop this platform.
